Pafilia – Leading the eco-friendly way

Green issues are a key concern for Pafilia.  We have a dedicated history of preserving and caring for nature, with our latest projects pioneering the island’s green development, thus creating a win-win situation for both our clients and the environment.

Leading the green way

-          In 2001 we were the first developer in the Paphos area to develop a sewage treatment plant in the Nerina Sunset complex in Chlorakas.

-          We very rarely develop properties to the maximum build factor allowed, with a policy that green areas are by far the most important aspect.  Indeed it is the development of residential oases that makes Pafilia properties stand out by a mile, with our 2007 flagship project, Elysia Park, providing a shining example.

-          In the construction of swimming pools, we build around existing trees, with further islands of trees placed adjacent to pools providing an extra splash of greenery

-          Property construction takes shape around existing trees wherever possible.  Hesperides Gardens, completed in April 2007 is a prime example.  Originally an orange grove, during the early stages of development we engaged the services of a tree surgeon to advise on the best possible tree saving scheme.  As a result, the existing trees were cut back, dug up with their roots intact and transported to the green area of Iris Village in 2005.  The result?  The remaining orange trees at Hesperides Gardens and the replanted orange trees at Iris Village, meant that new residents not only reaped the rewards of well matured green areas upon moving in, negating the usual two year maturity time, but homeowners could even pick fresh oranges from the very first day they moved in!

A tree for every property

We go to great lengths to preserve and nurture the island’s natural heritage.  Our promise to plant a new tree for every single property that we build is testament to this, and when coupled with each development’s extensive green areas and tree re-planting policy, we believe that no other developer on the island can beat our green policy.

Energy saving initiatives

-          Nearly all Pafilia properties are designed with solar panels for hot water.  With 340 days of sunshine every year the savings are immense, both on resident’s bills and the environment

-          Clients who choose a custom-built residence are rewarded with extra opportunities to create a green, eco-friendly home.  For instance by installing solar panels that also heat their swimming pool, thus saving extra energy.

A hallmark for green development

Our development, Minthis Hills, is located in the expansive countryside bordering the enchanting Tsada village.  As our flagship project for 2008, Minthis Hills illustrates how sympathetic we are to the island’s environment.  Above all, this is a lifestyle resort – a place to escape from the everyday pressures of life, and as such will be developed to enhance its stunning bucolic surrounds.

Water

-          Rain water collection will be used to irrigate landscaped areas

-          Recycling of sewage water, with three cleaning stages, will provide additional irrigation for landscaped areas

-          Grey water system

Property design

-              swhilst s

-          The use of natural building materials, including locally sourced stone and wood, will create a development that is in harmony with its natural surrounds, whilst at the same time diminishing each property’s maintenance costs

-          Design inspiration for the development has been taken from traditional Cypriot homes, aiding cool breezes during the summer months and also keeping the heat in during the winter months

-          Water tanks will be in the basement, not on the roof

Abundant nature

Only 100,000will be built upon, providing extensive     There are numerous, encouraging residents to explore stunning           approximately 30,000will create tranquil, park-like grounds

The future

We are constantly investigating new and effective ways to improve our eco-friendly policy, and will soon be announcing specific initiatives to turn our green dreams into reality.
